MY NEW ANIMAL

Instructions:
Your assignment is to create a new animal. Use the drawing app on MUZY (www:muzy.com) to draw your animal. In the note section on the bottom, write a 100 word description of your animal. In your description answer the following questions:
What is your animal called?
What does it look like?
Where does it live?
What does it like to eat?
What can you animal do?

Submission
You will need to create a MUZY account.
Save your drawing to your blog.
Email your link to your teacher (rmeszaros@kis.or.kr). Include an appropriate subject and message in your email.

DUE DATE: You will have class time during D Block on Friday. Please email me your project by the end of D Block on Friday, April 20th.

SURVEY PROJECT

STEP 1:
Create a survey. Prepare 10 questions that can be answered using frequency adverbs. i.e. How often do you go to the gym?

STEP 2:
Conduct the survey. Ask your questions to 10 other people. Please use English. Take note of their answers.

STEP 3:
Present your finding to the class. In your Keynote:
1) List your 10 questions
2) List the 10 people that you surveyed
3) Summarize your findings for each questions

How often do you go to the gym? 20% said they usually go to the gym every day. 60% said they sometimes go to the gym. 20% said they never go to the gym.

DUE DATE: Monday, February 20th at the beginning of D Block. You will need to present your keynote and submit a hard copy of your questions to your instructor along with the answers you received.

  1. Prepare a keynote about any 1 page from the Oxford ESL Dictionary
  2. Identify the guide words on your 1st slide
  3. Choose 3 entry words. For each entry, include the following information on a separate slide:
  • The entry word
  • The pronunciation (write the phonetic script -- learn how to say the word before your presentation)
  • The number of syllables (please show the word with dots in the appropriate places)
  • The part of speech
  • A definition
  • An original sample sentence
  • An appropriate image

Dictionaries can't leave the classroom. Please identify the above information before you spend time in class creating your Keynote.

KIS would like to add some new hobbies and sports to the Activity Block for next semester. The principal is accepting proposals from students.

Task:
Prepare a Keynote presentation suggesting 5 news sports of hobbies for Activity Block. For each day of the week, suggest an activity. Include 5 things:

  1. The name of the hobby or sport.
  2. A picture or image of the activity.
  3. A sentence about the history of the sport or hobby.
  4. A sentence about a famous person who participates in this activity.
  5. A sentence or two explaining why you propose this activity. Use the phrases "I propose" and "I recommend".
